My art is rooted in storytelling through clay, sculpture, and mixed media—a visual language that connects ancestry, memory, and material. I draw from African and African American traditions of adornment, symbolism, and resilience to explore how identity is shaped and remembered across generations. Each piece serves as both artifact and narrative, weaving together cultural motifs, inherited patterns, and personal history. Through processes of molding, firing, and surface design, I translate oral histories and lived experiences into tangible forms that honor the past while reimagining the future. My work invites viewers to consider the beauty, complexity, and endurance of heritage as a source of both reflection and empowerment.

My students’ work reflects curiosity, cultural awareness, and a fearless approach to creativity. Through projects that explore identity, storytelling, and material experimentation, they learn to connect personal experience with broader global perspectives. Their pieces often merge traditional and contemporary techniques—blending clay, mixed media, and found materials—to express ideas of community, heritage, and transformation.
